About the Book:

Robert McLellan: Plaing Scotland's Story offers the reader an insight into the works of one of Scotland's most intriguing dramatists.

McLellan's dedication to the language of Scotland is combined with rich local detail to create superb lyrical poems and outstandingly beautiful plays which are both witty and intelligent in their portrayal of Scottish history and culture.

His works are an exploration of the history of Scottish identity and the journey it has made, fearlessly confronting the unattractive aspects of Scottish culture with refreshing honesty and humour.

This collection brings together - for the first time - all of McLellan's plays including previously unpublished works and selected poems. A foreword by playwright and poet
Donald Campbell and an epilogue by drama producer Alastair Cording are also included.
