Robert McLellan

ROBERT McLELLAN, born on January 28, 1907, at Linmill, his grandparents' farm in Kirkfieldbank, Lanarkshire, became a prominent Scottish playwright.

He is best known for his stage works, including the influential Jamie the Saxt, The Flouers o Edinburgh, Torwatletie, The Carlin Moth, and Young Auchinleck.

McLellan played a crucial role in promoting Scottish drama and culture. In recognition of his contributions, he was made honorary president of The Scottish Society of Playwrights and was awarded the OBE in 1977. He passed away in 1985.
