About the Book:

Where did the name Loch Ness come from?
How did Cherry Island come to be?
When have the waters run red with blood?

From history to fauna, this book is great for locals and visitors alike. From the mystery of Nessie to the beauty of the landscape, Loch Ness is an inspiration to all who hear its name. Whether it be in textbooks or even Scooby Doo. The Story of Loch Ness is awe-inspiring.

But what of the characters, the history and the myths which enchanted inhabitants and travellers alike?

Katharine Stewart captures the essence of Loch Ness from its ancient formation through the early dwellers, the communities and the battles, the wild life, the genealogy, the stories and folklore, the geology and hydrology and the present day.

This is, indeed, The Story of Loch Ness.
