About the Book:
The fairest of the inner Hebridean islands and Scotland’s great centre of celtic Christianity.
Both Mull and Iona are now easily accessible even for day visitors from the mainland, and no parts of Scotland will give more joy to the traveller. Iona, made famous by Columba, founder of Celtic Christianity, represents a spiritual experience rare enough in the world today. The colourful front of Tobermory will welcome you to Mull, an island with fascinating geology to discover amongst the beautiful surroundings of Ben More and the nearby Fingal’s Cave.
Reviews:
Here, you will find ‘that curious pastiche of myths and legend and history that the Scots use to describe their heritage... A lively counterpoint to the more standard, detached guidebook... Intriguing. THE WASHINGTON POST
About the Author:
PETER MacNAB was reared on Mull, as was his father, and his grandfather before him. He wrote, lectured and broadcast about Scotland in general and Mull in particular. Author of a range of books about the island, including the first standard study of Mull and Iona, he is known to lovers of Scottish lore worldwide through his many contributions to the Scots Magazine. He was in the right place at the right time when, in 1956, he took a now classic picture of the Loch Ness Monster.
