Scotland at the World Cup

In case you've been living under a rock since November, Scotland qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in a historic moment for the country.

When is Scotland's first game? Who are we playing? Where can I watch it? Do we get the day off?

14 June 2026, Haiti vs Scotland, 2am UK time - but whether or not you will get the next day off to celebrate is up to your employer. The Scottish Government announce Monday 15 June as a national bank holiday, however implementation varies council to council.

All Scotland games in the 2026 World Cup so far:

Scotland are Group C in the World Cup - described as a 'horribly tough group'. See below for match details:

  • Sunday 14 June: Vs Haiti 2am kick-off - watch on the BBC
  • Friday 19 June: Vs Morocco, 11pm UK time - watch on ITV
  • Wednesday 24 June: Vs Brazil, 11pm UK time - watch on the BBC

When did Scotland last qualify for the World Cup?

The Scotland team last qualified for the World Cup in 1998, in a group that also included Brazil and Morocco! History repeating itself perhaps, but lets hope it won't be another 28 years before Scotland qualifies again.
