Johanna Geyer-Kordesch

JOHANNA GEYER-KORDESCH has had a distinguished academic career, uniquely bridging the disciplines of the history of medicine and cultural history, particularly as reflected in our landscapes. From 1990 to 2001, she served as the Director of The Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine at Glasgow University, where she made significant contributions to the field. Following this, she was appointed as Professor of European Natural History and Medicine at the same university. Even after her retirement in 2006, she continues to hold the title of Chair Emerita, reflecting her lasting influence on both the academic community and the study of medical history.
