CAT OUTRAM

CAT OUTRAM, a seasoned printmaker, has been honing her craft for over four decades since graduating from Art College in 1981. With nearly 30 years as a professional artist, she has dedicated much of her career to the art of etching.

Residing in Edinburgh, Scotland, Outram is an active member of the Edinburgh Printmakers, where she creates her intricate works. Her portfolio showcases a diverse range of subjects, including cityscapes of Edinburgh, landscapes, plant studies, still lifes and collections of found objects. She is particularly attentive to light, shadow, tone, texture, and patterns, often exploring variations on themes through sets of images.

Recently, Outram has ventured into abstraction, embracing the exploratory nature of her work. Her approach remains playful and open-ended, reflecting her enjoyment of the creative process and her curiosity about where it might lead.
