This passion led him to pursue Scottish Historical Studies at the University of Edinburgh, where he earned both his undergraduate degree and an MSc, further honing his understanding of Scotland’s rich past. He then propelled him into a career at the Sunday Herald, where he quickly gained recognition for his insightful reporting and editorial contributions. After a successful career there, Burnett transitioned into his role as Deputy Editor of the Scottish Standard, a fresh and dynamic addition to Scotland's newspaper landscape. His leadership at the Scottish Standard reflects his commitment to providing informed, engaging content to readers across the nation.
