Alan Kelly
ALAN KELLY grew up in North Lanarkshire and spent more than 20 years working in various manual labor jobs, including road sweeping, litter picking, drain cleaning and in a tar factory. During these years, he battled alcoholism, which greatly affected his personal life and eventually led to the breakdown of his marriage. His struggles with addiction and the hardships of his working-class background have deeply influenced his writing, providing the foundation for much of the inspiration behind his novels. His work reflects the raw realities of life, drawing on his personal experiences to create powerful and authentic narratives.
