About the Book:

From David Cameron striding across the border, wearing nothing but a kilt and brandishing a claymore soaked in the blood of his enemies, to Alex Salmond’s naked mud wrestling bout with Alistair Darling, the campaign to win Scotland’s independence from the Evil Empire in Westminster had everything.

Now, with in-depth analysis from renowned political expert, Dr Ian Shackleton of the Glasgow School of Politics and Football, and relying on actual quotes from friends of sources close to aides to senior Holyrood insiders, From #Indyref to Eternity tells the true story of this momentous political event, with week-by-week reports from the final six months of the campaign that historians will call ‘that vote about the thing that happened in Scotland in 2014.’

About the Author:

DOUGLAS LINDSAY was born in 1964. Raised in Uddingston, Scotland, he has also lived in Belgium and Senegal. He has written seven novels involving the character Barney Thomson, the first of which, The Long Midnight of Barney Thomson has been translated into German, Italian, French and Hungarian, and will soon be seen on cinema screens. Lindsay moved to Estonia the day after the Referendum. He divides his time between writing books and running after two children.

DR IAN SHACKLETON is rumoured to be a figment of Douglas Lindsay’s imagination. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is unlikely.

BOB DEWAR was born in Edinburgh at an early age. 16 years later he was published nationally. He worked in D.C. Thomson’s studio where, among other things, he ghosted Dennis the Menace. After going freelance, he did political and social commentary for The Scotsman newspaper. He has illustrated books for the children’s and English Speaking Departments of Oxford University Press, Fife Educational Social Development, A&C Black and many Scottish publishers – Birlinn, Luath, Black & White and Itchy Coo. His work has also appeared in The Times, The Herald, Scottish Field and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
