About the Book:
Drawn to the Edge gives a visual tour of the Outer Hebrides, one of the most remote parts of Scotland. Anthony Barber has captured the islands’ harsh and stunning landscapes simply and beautifully in over 100 sketches and accompanying text, which give a personal insight into island life.
About the Author:
ANTHONY J BARBER was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1962. He studied Architecture and Design to postgraduate level in West Yorkshire. During this time, he sketched and painted both in Yorkshire and in Scotland. In 1994, he moved to the Isle of Lewis. He paints full time, working in his studio gallery, which is just above the harbour and beach in Port of Ness.
His original works can be seen at Harbour View Gallery, Port of Ness, and in a number of UK galleries. His work has been selected for the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour exhibitions at the national Gallery, Edinburgh, and the Royal Society of Marine Artists and Discerning Eye exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London.
